The Clean Slate

App,

The Clean Slate is based on The Organised Mum Method (TOM). With two kids and both of us working full time, I wanted a simple way to keep the house in order without having to think about what’s due.

Housework is split into three layers. A short list of daily jobs comes first. Each weekday then has one room with 30 minutes of tasks: kitchen on Monday, living room on Tuesday, and so on. Friday works through an eight-week rotation of deeper jobs, one area a week.

Jobs not finished today can roll over to tomorrow, and a streak counts the days in a row the daily list was done. The jobs, rooms and rotation can all be edited in the app’s settings.

It’s written in TypeScript with React and Vite, styled with Tailwind, and installs on a phone as a web app. Firebase handles sign-in and stores each person’s settings and daily progress. I built it in a day in April 2026.
