Our Cellar

App,

I had a few bottles of wine that had been sitting around for ages. Some were nice, some were cheap, and I could never remember how long I’d had them or whether I’d enjoyed the last one I opened. I wanted a way to log them, so I built one.

Adding a bottle starts with a photo of the label. The app sends it to Claude, which reads off the producer, wine name, vintage, region, country, grape and colour, and fills in the form for me to check and save. When a bottle gets opened it moves to a history list with the date and a star rating, so I can look back at what I thought of it.

It’s a Next.js app written in TypeScript and styled with Tailwind, and it installs on a phone as a web app. Supabase stores the wines and the label photos and handles sign-in. The call to Claude runs on the server, so the API key never reaches the phone, and only signed-in users can make it.

I built it over three days in April 2026.
